Thermoplastic Tubing
Thermoplastic Tubing

Tubing for Transportation Industry

Akron Polymer adds value further by performing customer specific testing, including high pressure testing, vacuum leak decay and burst pressure testing.

Akron Polymer Products is able to respond to today’s Transportation Markets that are demanding higher performance products at lower costs, zero defects, and leading edge process technologies.

The automobile industry involves fabricating tube into specific shapes which opens the market to a wider range of options for custom parts. Formed shapes can be made to match your application requirements. In a controlled environment using heat and special tooling, Akron polymers will custom form thermoplastic tubing into a variety of configurations.

Tubing for Transportation Industry
Akron Polymer Products produces made to print fluid handling tube products and tube assemblies. Thermoplastic resins used in our process are effective in resisting high temperatures, various under-hood chemicals and corrosion. The end products are lightweight and flexible. Akron Polymer Products also produces hybrid assemblies made from thermoplastic and non-ferrous materials that are combined for various applications such as hydraulic clutch actuation.

Development of Thermoplastic Tubing
Equipped with the latest CAD and FEA software tools, Akron Polymer Products’ engineers are available to assist your engineering team with the design and development of your thermoplastic tube product. Akron’s engineering team can recommend the best material, and simulate the environment and function of the tubing application. We specialize in designing tools and processes that can produce complex, multi-bend tube configurations and end-forming profiles

Extrusion of Thermoplastic Tubing
Akron Polymer Products extrudes a variety of thermoplastic materials for custom tube fabrications and tubing profiles. Materials include nylon (polyamide) such as 6, 66, 612, 11, and 12; thermoplastic elastomer and polyurethanes. Tubing diameters range from 1/16 inch (1.50mm) to 1.5 inches (38mm).
